Consent Letter for GST Registration — Free Format
Where the premises used as a principal place of business belong to someone else and there is no rent agreement, GST registration requires a consent letter from the owner. It is a short document, but it is rejected often — usually because the ownership proof does not match the name on the letter.

The draft
Fill the fields and the draft updates as you type. The document itself is editable, so you can adjust any clause before copying, downloading or printing it. Read the notes underneath first — they cover the points these documents are usually challenged on.
Fill the fields above and the draft updates as you type. Anything still showing underscores can be typed straight into the document below — it is fully editable before you copy, download or print.
Before you use this
The name must match
The name on the consent letter must match the name on the ownership document you attach. A mismatch between the electricity bill and the letter is the most common reason these applications are queried.
Stamp paper is usually not required
Most GST officers accept a consent letter on plain paper. A few insist on stamp paper, so check the practice in your jurisdiction before printing.
Where there is a rent agreement
A registered or notarised rent agreement is generally sufficient on its own, and a consent letter is not needed. The consent letter route is for premises used without a formal tenancy — commonly a family-owned property.
